About Amanda

Amanda Dale, Owner & Lead Designer

My name is Amanda Dale and I am the owner of High Fire Designs in Wylie, Texas.

I loved art throughout grade school and high school and participated in many classes, so when the time came for college it was quite obvious what I would choose.  I attended Texas Christian University and earned a degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Sculpture.  I also met my husband, Geoff, at TCU where we became engaged and were married.

Upon graduation, I pursued a career in education and worked as a three-dimensional design teacher for four years.  During my time as a teacher, I found a love of ceramics and started a small traveling craft business specializing in handmade ceramics and glassware.

After assisting with a couple of weddings for friends and family, I established a new part of the business that customizes and rents wedding decor of all types, themes, and sizes.  High Fire Designs has allowed me to be creative every day constantly adapting to each new bride and her dreams, visions, and wishes.

I have a beautiful little girl named Ivy and a vivacious little boy named Geoffrey.  I enjoy time with my family and when I get a chance, I am a crazy bargain shopper and love to attend garage sales looking for treasures.  I have a ceramics studio on our land and wish I could get out there more often.  Gardening has become a new favorite hobby and one day I hope to be an accomplished cook.  I have a blog called The Ivy Cottage Blog on which I write about crafting and DIY.

Creativity is a constant in my world whether approaching a new concept with a bride or DIY projects around the house.  I love art, color, line, texture, and love to use them throughout my world!
