When I met Cassy at the bridal show, I was pleased to find that I knew her fiance!!! He was my husband's roommate in college. I was thrilled to meet with them and design the perfect decor for their elegant, but fun wedding in August.

They also brought along their wedding invitation as inspiration . . . they made them themselves!

Savannah and Jared needed simple, contemporary designs on a strict budget and in a hurry. Plus, they needed to take everything with them and set it up themselves . . .

This past weekend, we designed the decorations for Alicia and Brian. Alicia's favorite color is violet, so our color palette started there and also included light blue. She wanted to keep it light, youthful, and fun. We utilized glass, water, silk flowers, candles, floralytes, and crystals . . . they looked spectacular!

Modern, Industrial with Jewel Tone COLOR!

Yesterday, I had a brainstorming consultation with a lovely bride named Robin. She is getting married in August and after receiving a quote from her florist regarding manzanita branch centerpieces, she decided to contact High Fire Designs and see what we could do for her.
She has selected a modern, industrial venue with lofty ceilings and a view of downtown Dallas. The ceremony will be held on a roof top deck, but the reception will be inside.
Her color scheme includes shades of fucshia, violet, teal, mauve, sapphire, and yellow. Beautiful and unusual selection! Her bridesmaids will all be wearing a different combination of these colors.
We have selected a combination of mixed vases (different ones on each table), color coordinated water, natural manzanita branches, and long hanging crystal strands. These pieces will be gorgeous, fill a lot of space, and for only a little money!

MONEY SAVING TIP: Love the idea of colored linens, but surprised at the price? Try utilizing the basic white or ivory linens at your venue and then consider ordering runners or additional chair ties in your colors. These can be criss-crossed or layered in your table for a great pop of color without a huge dent in your budget.

Water, water, water!!!

Need something to wow your guests on the BIG day? Ever considered water?

I know sounds lame, but consider this . . . water is reflective, soothing, fits any container, and is on hand at almost all venues. Plus, it is FREE!

How to vamp up water . . . use food coloring! Not the typical stuff that you get at the grocery store. Instead, look for a local baking supply store near you and select from hundreds of gorgeous colors! Here is a list of some of the colors that High Fire Designs utilizes: fuschia, sky blue, lime green, super red, and navy.

Above is a type of food coloring that HFD utilizes.

Typically, the food coloring will come in gel form if purchased from a baking supply store. The key to using a gel food coloring is a wisk. Put a small amount of the food coloring in a pitcher and filled with about a cup of water, then use the wisk to break up the gel. Make sure to mix until the gel is completely dissolved. Add more water to obtain the color you are looking for.

We always mix in a clear pitcher, so we can see the color and we NEVER mix directly in your final container.

Colored water can add such vibrancy to your decoration design. Consider all types of containers . . . tall and thin, short and wide, crystal goblets collected in the center, etc.

Have an unusual color scheme? Food coloring will work great!

HFD custom mixed this peach color to fit our bride's needs.

Want to save even more money? Collect all types of glass pitchers, vases, and containers from family and friends. Consider using larger ones by themselves on your tables and creating a collection of smaller ones on other tables. Float a couple of coordinating flowers or candles in the water and ta-da! Instant color! Enjoy the inspiration!
